Scottish Pony Partners – The post you have all been waiting for!! We know how much you will all have been missing your ponies during lockdown. Now that some aspects of Lockdown are being relaxed we aim to be able to open up to provide each sharer with a safe space and access to their pony once a week. While we appreciate that in normal circumstances you would have 3 days a week at the moment it would be unrealistic to be able to offer this due to the conditions regarding social distancing. Also please bear in mind we are volunteers and have families and other commitments to try to work this around. We aim to be able to offer you all one afternoon/morning a week to be arranged in advance where you can get dropped off at the yard, collect your equipment and head out to spend about 2/3 hours with your pony. Poo Picking will also be involved!! Georgia and I will organise a timetable once we know what availability we have and you have. It is essential that you follow the protocols listed below when you are with us so that we can keep everyone safe and healthy and comply with the government recommendations. Bring clean gloves to wear at the yard. These can be disposable or rubber gloves providing they are cleaned before entering the yard. If you have a medical reason where you can’t wear the gloves for a prolonged period of time please bring an effective hand sanitiser. Although we have hand washing facilities at the toilet, the ponies will be in the summer field so this will not be easily accessible all the time. Please wear clean clothes and boots to the yard each time you visit. If you or any of your household have any Covid-19 symptoms please do not come to the yard. Maintain social distancing of 2 metres at all times. Only one person in the container, portacabin or toilet at a time. Bring your own clean grooming kit if you have one if not one will be provided. Take all litter including gloves off the yard when you leave. Dispose of them appropriately at home or one of the park bins. It’s going to be weird but worth doing and remember asides from keeping yourself and your families safe these precautions are in place to protect us too. If we get sick we cant facilitate you visiting your ponies! We also ask that parents or guardians read and sign a disclosure basically to say that you understand that in emergency we may have to break social distancing rules to help you. This will need to be signed and returned to us when you come for your first visit back. The yard is undergoing some work just now so we will not be able start back straight away but this should be finished by the 3rd of June. Please message or post what days you are available and we can work out a timetable to fit everyone in. If parents have any concerns or questions please feel free to contact me by phone/text/messenger. Thank you all for your support and patience during this time and we are so looking forward to having you all back! Please comment below that you have read and understood the above. xox
